Volunteer: The ReStore Needs You!

Come help your local community, meet great friends and learn new skills.

Volunteers are integral to The Habitat Store’s success. They provide customer service, maintain and clean the store, process donations, organize our diverse merchandise, recycle and assist with special events. There is always something to do.  It’s a fun atmosphere with great fellow volunteers.  No construction skills or retail experience necessary.  But you must be at least 16 years old to volunteer.

The Store is open Monday- Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Volunteers usually commit to a regular 2-4 hour shift, 2-4 times a month.  Special events are sometimes held after hours.

We currently need volunteers to…

Provide customer service
Volunteers greet and direct customers, answer questions about our inventory and help load purchases and unload donations.  They also help organize merchandise, sweep, dust and keep the Store tidy.  Interested?  You should have strong customer service skills, a general knowledge of building materials and the ability to lift 25-50 lbs. on a consistent basis.

Help with donation pick-ups
Volunteers accompany staff members on donation pickups throughout the Hanover County area.  Interested?  You should have patience, strong customer skills and the ability to lift 75-100 lbs. on a consistent basis.
